Whoop figures: consistency checks (inputs from data/whoop_figures.csv) 1. Members 2,500,000+ on 2026-03-31 [PR-01]; 3,000,000+ on 2026-07-08 [REL-01], "latest one million members in just seven months", so about 2,000,000 on 2025-12-07. Straight line from 2,000,000 (2025-12-07) to 3,000,000 (2026-07-08) gives 2,535,211 on 2026-03-31: consistent with "over 2.5 million" [PR-01]. Year-end expectation 4,000,000 [POD-01 2:23] is a projection: 1,000,000 more in 176 days after 2026-07-08, versus 213 days for the previous million. The podcast says "about 6 months" from 2 to 3 million; the July release says seven months. 2. Hours of data "more than 24 billion" on 2026-03-31 [PR-01, INV-01]; "just over 50 billion" on 2026-10-29 [POD-01 19:22]. Difference: 26.0 billion hours in 212 days = 122.6 million hours a day, which needs 5,110,063 people wearing a device 24 hours a day, every day, for the whole period. Reported members over the period: 2,500,000+ (March) to 3,000,000+ (July); about 3,642,045 on 2026-10-29 if growth ran at the pace of the year-end projection. Hours members could have added at 24 h/day with linear growth: 6.5 billion (99 days to July) + 9.0 billion (113 days to October) = 15.5 billion. Upper bound, 4,000,000 members at 24 h/day for all 212 days: 20.4 billion. 24 billion + 15.5 billion = 39.5 billion (upper bound 44.4 billion), short of 50 billion by at least 5.6 billion. So the two totals cannot both be cumulative wear-hours on the same definition, unless the March figure was a stale or deliberately low floor ("more than"). Question for Whoop: what each total counts and as of when. 3. Hours per member 24 billion / 2.5 million = 9,600 hours = 1.10 years of 24/7 wear per current member. 50 billion / 4 million (year-end projection) = 12,500 hours = 1.43 years; / 3.64 million (October estimate) = 1.57 years. 4. Wear time 23.6 hours a day [POD-01 19:15] = 98.3% of a 24-hour day; the definition is not given. Whoop research page: 99.1% "data captured on active days" [WHOOP-06] = 23.78 hours of a 24-hour day. The two figures differ. The 99.1% figure is explicitly about "active days"; the 23.6-hour figure is not defined. Whoop-authored study [RES-01]: 907,249 days/nights from 11,914 new members over 84 days = 90.7% of member-days with usable data (after the authors removed incomplete or invalid entries). Only 4,351 of 11,914 (36.5%) wore it every day; 677 (5.7%) wore it fewer than 5 days a week. If 23.6 hours applied only to days worn, this cohort would average about 21.4 hours per calendar day. Caveat: the study sample required data in week 1 and week 12, so it leaves out members who stopped wearing the device; it is not a measure of all members. It is the only published wear-frequency figure found. 5. Funding totals "more than $400 million" (Sept 2025) [REL-02] + $575 million Series G [PR-01] = more than $975 million; consistent with "more than $950 million" [PR-02] and "more than $900 million" [PR-01, PR-03].
